Digital accessibility at Fondazione Genoa 1893 ETS

We firmly believe that the Internet should be available and accessible to everyone, and we are committed to providing accessible points of contact for the widest possible audience, regardless of circumstances or abilities.

To this end, Fondazione Genoa 1893 ETS works with AccessiWay, a partner specialising in digital accessibility, to adhere as closely as possible to the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible to people with a wide range of needs, including people who are blind or partially sighted and people with motor, cognitive, neurological or sensory disabilities.

Adhering to WCAG and receiving technical support from AccessiWay help us ensure that the website can be used by as many people as possible, in accordance with the principles of inclusion and applicable legislation.

Notes, comments and feedback

Despite our efforts to allow everyone to adapt the website to their needs, some pages or sections may still not be fully accessible, may be in the process of becoming accessible, or may lack a suitable technological solution to make them accessible.

We are constantly working to improve accessibility by adding, updating and improving options and features, and by developing and adopting new technologies. Our aim is to achieve an optimal level of accessibility as technology advances.

We are currently making adjustments and working to bring the website into compliance with WCAG accessibility criteria. The official Accessibility Statement will be published shortly, once the technical analysis of the content has been completed and work has begun to remedy any errors identified.

Customisation using our accessibility widget

The accessibility widget provided by AccessiWay is a tool that helps improve the website’s accessibility, making it easier to use and compatible with the main assistive technologies. Its customisable features support inclusive navigation for users with visual, motor, cognitive and neurological disabilities, in line with Italian and European legislation.

The widget can be accessed:

  • using the keyboard at the beginning of the page (press Tab)
  • using the mouse, in a fixed position at the bottom (the “universal access” icon)

Examples of available features:

  • Non-visual use: press Tab three times or enable screen reader compatibility mode
  • Limited vision: enable zoom, high contrast and font adjustments
  • Colour vision deficiencies: highlight links, headings and clickable content
  • Limited mobility: navigate using the keyboard or alternative tools
  • Visual sensitivity/photosensitivity: disable animations and enable colour palettes with reduced visual stimulation

If enabling a feature correctly compromises compatibility with your configuration or assistive technology, please contact us. In the meantime, disable the widget using the relevant button to avoid inappropriate use of our service.
